Job Scope:
Supervises the management of performance, financial and compliance audit projects within treasury and credit according to approved internal audit methodology and provide recommendations for improvement and compliance. The individual will provide major input to the development of the annual internal audit plan. Furthermore, the individual will supervise the implementation of Treasury & Credit Risk audit reviews in accordance with the approved audit plan, ensuring timeliness and quality.

Job Description:
• Prepare an annual Treasury & Credit Risk audit program in agreement with Internal Audit Management.
• Review and adjust the audit programs to be in line with engagement scope and requirements.
• Review the prioritisation of risks in terms of their potential impact on the goals, objectives, and financial viability of the bank (e.g., achievement of one or more goals or objectives, higher or lower, immediate or long-term risk).
• Reviews the alignment of internal audit activities with the risk priorities of the bank.
• Reviews the identification of where the bank is subject to significant risks and the risk management activities the bank employs to address those risks.
• Review the portfolio and risk management process, quality of Treasury & Credit Risk exposures, both "on" and "off" balance sheet at Head office and overseas branches.
• Reviews the monitoring procedures of audits being carried out to ensure timeliness, quality and adherence to internal audit methodology, policies, procedures and statutory requirements.
• Performs level review of all internal audit reports and deliverables and assures work is completed within agreed upon time frames.
• Reviews internal audit team work and challenges their understanding of audit areas and processes to assure adequate coverage.
• Reviews the follow up of audit reports and ensure compliance with recommendations.
• Conduct special investigations, assignments and audits, and if applicable, risk asset review for investigation of problem areas or for certain specific reasons.
• Reviews the identification of risk areas during audit review process and makes practical recommendations to reduce or eliminate mitigate risks.
• Evaluate management quality of liquidity, interest rates, foreign exchange, equities and other market risks and check compliance with internal policies, limits, external statutory and local / international regulatory requirements.
• Monitor action on own as well as external auditors and regulatory authorities' recommendations to ensure effective implementation.
• Guide, motivate and direct subordinates to perform effectively and work to their best potential.

Problem Solving/Complexity:
• Reviews the management of audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing and analysing evidence, and documenting audit processes and procedures.
• Resolution of day to day work problems within approved policies and procedures.

Requirements

Experience & Qualification Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 – 7 years of experience within a similar function, working in Banking / Finance industry.
• Experience in Treasury, Credit Risk, and Commercial Banking is preferable.
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, or similar.
• Additional qualifications are a plus, such as ACCA or CPA or CMA.
• Must have a strong command in the English language.
• Mature, balanced and dynamic individual with the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
• Must be able to deal with difficult situations and an ability to act as a leader.
