Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Purpose:
- To Develop and manage statistical reports for exceptional income and expenditure items. To Develop complex reporting, forecasting, trending & result analysis. To Ensure appropriateness of key assumptions included in financial plan & budgets.
- To Advise and provide financial consequences on any changes to the business strategies for the divisions.

Duties:
- Monitors performance against budgets and analyses material variances to detect the cause. Investigates such variance & performs corrective action accordingly
- Assess risk exposure and critical areas where it is high risk and develop procedures, controls to minimise / mitigate the risks
- Undertakes investigation and analysis when required to determine financial viability and impact on profit for various projects, to add value to Management decision-making.
- Monitors team activities to ensure adherence to Company policies, procedures and financial manuals.
- Stock take procedures, enhancement and moving to perpetual stock take system in Retail units.
- Provides advice and support to the Division Manager with regards to the Working Capital Management.
- Works with operational Managers to ensure an efficient and effective day-to-day flow of finance related transactions.
- Assists in strategic decision making in order to enhance value and meet stakeholder expectations in relation to the designated Division and its contribution to overall Company performance.
- Identify, study and develop IT solutions to improve the efficiency of finance department with respect to process efficiency, Internal control and best practice coordinating with IS Department
- Identify and evaluate the operational procedures on periodical intervals to minimize the business risk exposure and to achieve improved productivity
- Completion of Tax audits on time and get the tax clearance certificates periodically.
- Liaises with internal and external Auditors
- Reviews team performance on a monthly basis and monitors to ensure they meet KPI targets. Provides guidance and takes corrective performance measures when required to ensure that the team operates efficiently.
- Prepares and submits various daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports such as Management Accounts, quarterly review packs, budgets and plans, to the Division Managers and Group Financial Controller.
- Checks all reports prepared by staff for accuracy and ensures timely submission, providing content justification and explanation to Management when required.

- Develop Good Relationships With Division Managers And Staff, And Communicate Effectively At All Levels
- Highly Numerate & Methodical, With Good Attention To Detail
- Analytical & Able To Conduct Thorough Investigations
- Preparation Of Meaningful And Accurate Reports

Requirements

- Qualified Accountant
- Fluency in spoken and written English (Arabic an advantage)
- Bahrain driving license
- Minimum of 4 years in a Management Accountant position
- Proven success in managing, developing & motivating staff
- Experience of supermarket / logistical operations desirable.
- Experience in evaluation of the feasibility of new projects and businesses
