Position: Category Lead
Department: Supply Chain
Reports to: Supply Chain Manager
Location: Bahrain

Role Purpose:
The Category Lead is responsible for managing the evaluation and integration of complex customer requirements, focusing on HSE&A and delivering service excellence through efficient supply chain principles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

General

• Develop and implement sourcing plans to secure supply in line with category sourcing strategies.
• Create action plans, timelines, and resource assignments for sourcing projects.
• Continuously engage in sourcing to maintain a supply base that provides competitive advantages in quality, cost, delivery, and technology.
• Lead the ITT, RFI/Q/P, and bidding processes to minimize risk and maximize value.
• Ensure supplier pre-qualifications and on-site audits are performed as required.
• Manage supplier performance through regular reviews and assessments.
• Negotiate with suppliers to deliver value.
• Oversee sourcing projects to ensure timely completion and guaranteed supply for all portfolios.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to meet defined objectives.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste and implement appropriate actions.
• Comply with all local procedures applicable to the job function.

• Academic qualification, preferably in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business Management.
• Ideally experienced in Supply Chain Strategic Sourcing or Category Management.
• Understanding of Oil & Gas equipment and services.
