Role Purpose
Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, managing AML/CFT policies, and acting as the primary contact with regulators.
Key Responsibilities, Accountabilities And Activities
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
• Create compliance standards and monitoring/reporting mechanisms.
• Identify potential compliance vulnerabilities and assess risks.
• Monitor implementation of corrective action plans for non-compliance.
• Recommend or initiate investigations for violations of rules and regulations.
• Provide periodic compliance status reports to the MD & Board Members.
• Advise management on procedural changes and draft new/amended procedures.
• Act as the focal point for contact with regulators and industry authorities.
• Ensure timely CBB reporting and maintain all related correspondence.
• Maintain and update compliance policies and procedures regularly.
• Compile and submit Key Risk Indicators for review.
• Handle customer complaints and report them to regulators quarterly.
• Perform due diligence measures and client onboarding, including screening sanctions.
• Review client data and reconcile accounts monthly/quarterly.
• Maintain clients’ due diligence and transaction records for five years.
• Receive and review internal reports from management.
• Establish and maintain AML/CFT policies and procedures.
• Arrange staff awareness initiatives and maintain training records.
• Report annually to the Board on internal reports.
• Ensure compliance with AML laws and internal policies.
• Monitor application of AML policies and procedures.
• Make external reports to relevant authorities.
• Investigate internal suspicious transaction reports.
• Support senior management with AML/CFT KPI implementation.
Requirements:
• Relevant experience in compliance and AML/CFT regulations.
• Strong understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
Skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks.
