Data Protection Officer

Job description / Role

We are seeking a proficient and motivated Data Protection Officer with 2 years of experience in data privacy and protection within the financial or investment industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a proven ability to develop and implement data protection strategies, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of data security and compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• Conduct regular audits to identify and mitigate data protection risks.
• Monitor data processing activities and ensure they align with regulatory requirements.
• Provide guidance and training to employees on data protection best practices.
• Act as the primary point of contact for data protection authorities and data subjects.
• Manage data breach response and notification procedures.
• Keep up to date with changes in data protection laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with IT and legal departments to ensure data security measures are effective.

Qualification & Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in data protection roles, preferably within the financial or investment sector.
• Professional certification in data protection (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CIPT).
• In-depth knowledge of data protection laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• Strong understanding of data protection principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
