Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Overseeing the operations of a large and highly successful team of Architects & Engineers. The individual will have full operational and profitability responsibilities within the Projects, Planning, Architectural Design, and Engineering department, with oversight of the Financial Plan, Recruitment, Business Development throughout the region. Providing subject matter expertise based on an in-depth understanding of the industry and regulatory standards and architectural planning principles.

Key Responsibilities:
• Leads the management team to establish strategic plans and long-term objectives for the functions; may assist with developing cross-functional oriented objectives.
• Executes functional business plans and contributes to the development of functional strategies while supervising the performance and results for these areas, which includes the yearly financial plan.
• Work closely with the Executive Director in charge to develop policies to ensure the collection of receivables from clients.
• Leads and directs the various Real Estate Construction Projects, Planning, Architectural Design, as well as Engineering activities for multiple functions.
• Influences the development and execution of KPI policies and long-term goals.
• Participates in the development and methodologies, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people.
• Act as a business development personnel within the organisation, providing innovative solutions and practices to increase customer satisfaction and drive performance to increase the client retention and future business growth.
• Develop a strong data management process to create sources and databases for various functions catering to international clients.
• Providing guidance and subject matter expertise based on an in-depth understanding of the industry and regulatory standards, and design criteria pertinent to engineering and architecture planning and design work.
• Monitor and Evaluate architectural plans and designs, feasibility, safety and ensure adherence to building codes and other municipalities and government regulations.
• Applying market research strategies for the evaluation and assessment of potential construction sites for various potential projects, looking at the suitability.
• Overseeing the construction phases of all projects, evaluation and supervision of the financial and value engineering functions, providing the expertise in financial management and budgeting for the projects as well as determination of the most optimal materials for these projects. Monitoring of the profit margins and costing, ensuring the project is completed within the specified budgetary limits.
• Oversee the procurement function and ensure budgetary controls to enable better profitability.
• Manage relations effectively to enable annual contracts with top vendors, facilitate rate negotiations and business payback.
• Provide subject matter expertise in the principles of building design, concentrating on the structural demands and functionality while considering the aesthetic, economic and HSE factors.
• Lead and direct in the design of systems within a building pertaining to various factors such as heating, air-conditioning, etc.
• Work as a leader of the team comprising of structural, mechanical and electrical departments as well as actual consultants like interior designer and landscape consultants.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a relevant position covering Real Estate Construction Projects, Urban Planning, Architectural Design, and Engineering, 5 of which in a similar managerial role.
• Must have a Master’s in Architectural Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering or similar.
• Must have experience in and be able to create dynamic and complex AutoCAD drawings and plans.
• Knowledge of all relevant legislation and regulatory standards and requirements across the GCC.
• Strong IT skills – Must have knowledge in using various programs to track big projects and staff progress, such as MS Projects.
• Project Management skills – Must have the ability to create and maintain complex documents showcasing the overview of all projects while attending to the detailed technicalities.
• Problem solving skills, must be able to think outside of the box.
• Excellent people skills with a strong ability to negotiate with clients on the requirements, etc. to close deals.
• Candidate must have excellent communication skills, with a strong command in the English Language.
