Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client is a medical center in Bahrain devoted entirely to the management and treatment of diabetes They are currently looking to recruit a Financial Controller

Reports to: CEO

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Prepare various financial analysis and segments reports to the Board of Directors, CEO and management.
• Prepare periodic financial analysis of operations of the Center to identify trends and/or potential problems.
• Prepare evaluations and recommendations, based on financial analysis, to the ODM/CEO/Board of Directors, for consideration and action.
• Ensure that the financials are in compliance with IFRS and Bahrain Commercial Law.
• Ensure timely and accurate accounting and presentation of the Center accounts/reports to the CEO.
• Responsible to the direct and supervise the preparation of Financial Statements and all closing and adjusting entries, and liaise with both internal and external auditors for the purpose of this issue.
• Guides preparation of budgets, cash flow projections and operational plans for the center and provides overall recommendations to the senior management on efficient utilization of the budget.
• Design and develop Center\'s budgeting systems and procedure for operational and capital budgets. Responsible for the implementation of the budgetary systems and procedures by coordinating annual budget activities involving Administration and Department Heads.
• Monitor revenue and expenditure in accordance with approved annual budget.
• Report actual vs. budget to Management and Board.
• Ensure cost efficiency through budget monitoring.
• Ensure that adequate cash is available at all times to support the continuance of routine Center operations and that surplus cash is invested or distributed as directed by Directors of Board.
• Actively participate in negotiating with banks and financial institutions to arrange necessary funding for new projects and working capital requirements.
• Ensure sound development and implementation of the policies and procedures. Maintain a documented system of financial and accounting policies and procedures in line with center\'s streamlined policy and procedures guidelines.
• Administratively responsible for the supervision of the Accounting Department which includes Cash Recompilations, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Billing, and Budget Reporting. Also responsible for supervision of the finance and accounting System.
• Liaison with the Center\'s internal auditors and external auditors. Coordinate with the other department in their operations.
• Undertake any other relevant tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the CEO.
• Financial delegation authority and signatory levels as per the approval of the Board of Directors.

Requirements

• Post Graduate of an Accredited University / College with a degree in Accounting & Finance, Professional certifications in CFA, CPA, CMA ACCA and/or equivalent are preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years\' experience in Financial Management, Accounting or related field.
• Minimum five (5) years\' experience in a combination of successively higher positions within
• Hospital, Healthcare Industries, Medical Insurance firms / of Financial Management.
• Membership / involvement in professional associations.
