Head of Regulatory Affairs - Global FS Corporation

Michael Page

Bahrain

Ref: HP350-5234

Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Newly created role within a global powerhouse of the Financial Services industry. This role has been created as a response to changing market conditions, and is a crucial one for the successful growth and expansion of the business. Needs someone who is agile and has the ability to set up a function from scratch.

Client Details

Our client is a household name multinational with operations in FS, payments, Fintech and more. They have a good regional presence with the HQ being in Bahrain.

Description

This role has been newly created to allow the business to grow through an ever-changing regulatory landscape. The successful candidate will be responsible primarily for monitoring various Central Bank regulations across the region, and ensuring the business is compliant with them.

This hire will work closely with the legal team and the compliance team, but will in essence be creating a new function from scratch, reporting into the CEO / CFO. It should therefore be someone who is not only effective at developing relationships externally with Central Banks and other regulatory bodies, but also internally in order to be able to bridge the gap between different departments.

Job Offer

This is one of the most desirable employers in the region, and an excellent multinational name to have on your CV. You would have the opportunity to create a function from scratch working directly alongside senior management and as such there is a huge amount of longevity available for this person.

It would be an excellent career move for an FS Regulatory lawyer who is seeking a new challenge in an exciting and cutting edge industry.

Requirements

The requirements are fairly open, but we envision the ideal candidate would have the following profile:

* Legal qualification / educational background
* Experience of liaising with Central Bank and/or other regulators
* Excellent communication skills

A similar role in another FS institution would be ideal. But also suitable would be a FS regulatory lawyer or a compliance professional.

Ideally seeking someone willing to move to Bahrain, but for the right person may consider having them work from the Dubai office.
