Company
Our client is a leading Islamic Retail Bank in Bahrain. They are currently looking to hire Head of Remedial Management & Collections

Duties & Responsibilities
• Review and advise on the proposals for write-off, restructure and reschedules before submitting to Management for approvals.
• Manage and coordinate the relationship with lawyers and collection agencies for litigated cases.
• Monitor the RMU and collections teams’ targets and as well as the non-performing finance portfolio and develop alternative actions.
• Review and approve the due diligence on NPF accounts and any required credit analysis.
• Develop and improve methods of collection, restructure/reschedule, exit and NPF plans in terms of quality and efficiency.
• Submit regular and ad-hoc MIS and reports to management on NPF of CFI and Retail.
• Provide Management with portfolio analysis and data highlighting trends in the finance portfolio and suggest changes to the financing criteria.
• Track the market for developments that will provide Management and business units with proactive information to alter lending policies or credit approval criteria.
• Install an early detection mechanism for delinquent accounts & furnish timely information to all concerned departments
• Maximize profitability by recovering the maximum amount of delinquent debt.
• Set and manage employees’ short and long-term responsibilities and objectives in line with the department plans and Bank's strategy to ensure smooth running of the department activities and projects.
• Serve as the department main point of contact; externally with management, other departments and third parties to and provide reports and resolve issues and internally to respond to employees requests, enquiries, grievances and resolve issues.
• Financial management of the department, including but not limited to preparing and administering the department budget in line with the Bank strategy, and ensuring that budget targets are met.
• Identify current and future training needs, provide training and professional development and manage the department's training plan and professional competence to maintain a standard understanding among team members about policies, procedures, laws, rules, regulations and best practices to ensure ongoing development.
• Responsible for the department policies and procedures to be comprehensive and updated.
• Provide guidance, leadership, coaching and motivation to employees to create a positive, encouraging and effective working environment.
• Manage the employee’s performance appraisal, promotion, salary increment and career path.
• Coordinate the department logistics and resources.
• Manage the department's recruitment and selection process.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Head of CFI and Treasury and Head of Retail Banking Department.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:
• 15 years total experience
• Minimum of Seven years of experience in Retail Bank
• Minimum of five years of credit risk and collection activities.
• Experience in Islamic Banking preferred
