Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job description / Role

We are seeking a proficient and motivated Equipment Mechanic with 4 years of experience in maintaining and repairing mechanical assemblies and pneumatic and hydraulic systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a proven ability to perform thorough maintenance and repairs, and a commitment to upholding high standards of safety and quality.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Carry out scheduled maintenance and servicing work, as well as unscheduled repair and maintenance work on ground support equipment and light and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Obtain required spare parts, disassemble engines, repair and overhaul components and assemblies, and test and reassemble equipment.
• Perform maintenance and servicing on aircraft ground support equipment and light and heavy-duty vehicles, following established standards.
• Test equipment and vehicles after servicing to ensure efficient operation.
• Diagnose faults, obtain required parts, and perform repair work on unscheduled maintenance or repairs.
• Conduct on-site fault diagnosis and repairs for malfunctioning equipment and vehicles.
• Maintain safekeeping of allocated tool kits and replace worn-out or damaged tools.
• Complete work from previous shifts and stand by for emergency repairs.
• Participate in the training of lower-graded mechanics and apprentices.
• Comply with health, safety, and security regulations of the company and airport authorities.
• Familiarity with Emergency Response for GSE Workshop Facility and Bahrain International Airport.
• Maintain and wear appropriate PPE: Safety Shoes, Hi-Vis, masks, goggles, gloves, and ear defenders.
• Report any security incidents and prevent unauthorized access.

Qualification & Requirements:

• Completion of 12 years of technical education plus 3 years of training in Mechanical Trades.
• 4 years of experience in maintenance and repair work on mechanical assemblies and pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Fair knowledge of written and spoken English.
• Possession of a light driving license.
