Indian Cuisine Chef

Job description / Role

Duties & Responsibilities:

Food Preparation & Cooking:
• Prepare and cook a wide range of Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori items, biryanis, dosas, chaats, and Indian breads.
• Specialize in a specific section, such as Tandoor, Curry, South Indian, Snacks, or Chaats.
• Ensure the precise balance of spices and seasoning to create authentic flavors.
• Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and presentation of all dishes.

Kitchen Operations & Hygiene:
• Adhere to HACCP food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation.
• Ensure the proper handling, storage, and freshness of ingredients, including spices, meats, and dairy products.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering ingredients when required.

Team Collaboration & Leadership:
• Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth operations.
• Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen assistants in Indian cooking techniques.
• Contribute to menu development by introducing innovative Indian dishes and modern interpretations of classics.

• Proven experience as a Chef de Partie (Indian Cuisine) in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment.
• Strong expertise in Indian spices, traditional cooking techniques, and regional cuisines.
• Specialization in one or more sections: Tandoor, Curry, Biryani, South Indian, or Snacks & Chaats.
• Ability to perform efficiently in a high-paced, high-volume kitchen setting.
• Excellent knife skills, plating techniques, and attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
