At present, we are currently recruiting a Manager – Facilities Management to work for a major retail developer and operator in Bahrain.

Our client is currently developing a large scale shopping, leisure and entertainment venue. The project is under construction as we speak and is expected to open in the second half of 2017.

The new development occupies a unique location in the country, overlooking the Bahrain Bay area of the capital covering a site of over 262,000 sq.m. The Mall itself will create a leasable area of 38,000sq.m in its Phase 1 development, with the Second Phase incorporating a hotel development as well as an additional 32,000sq.m of retail and leisure space.

The environment will also include parks and walkways as the project sees the creation of the Corniche area of Manama, offering a new destination for the residents of Bahrain, as well as it’s many tourist visitors, to relax and enjoy both the open spaces as well as a new range of retail, restaurant and leisure operations.

Our client will be operating the mall and is looking to recruit an experienced Facilities Manager who can manage the pre-opening and tenant fit-out programs as well as preparing the mall for its day to day management, including the set up and recruitment of the necessary specialist contractors to ensure the highest possible standards of operation and maintenance.

Requirements

- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering or relevant related discipline (or equivalent due to visa restrictions)
- Possess a minimum of 2 years related experience in a retail environment where high expectations are required.
- Previous experience in pre-opening stages and tenant fit out programs (retail)
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent Customer service skills
- Good technical and building systems and equipment understanding
- Good knowledge of risk management and mitigation
- Good knowledge of project management methodology
- A proven team player with strong solutions orientation and people management skills.
- A person with impact who possesses a sense of urgency, has initiative, and can quickly establish credibility with the client and the tenants.
- A person balanced in strategic and tactical strengths, and with excellent planning and execution skills, who can think analytically.
- A person with very good facilitation and influencing skills.
- A person who is a quick processor and brings a positive and high-energy approach to getting things done.
- Good business acumen and exceptional integrity.
- Computer literate including excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
