Job description / Role
We are looking for an Engineering Manager for one of our clients based in Bahrain.
Duties & Responsibilities
• To ensure an acceptable standard of Quality, Environmental Health and Safety, OHSAS and Security Management System is maintained in accordance with recognized working practices and the Company’s QEH&S Manual and Policy. To ensure safe working practices are always maintained.
• Manage all the Engineering processes and ensure that contractual obligations and responsibilities are fulfilled in all instances.
• To ensure engineering solutions for conversions, retrofit and repair on ships and rigs.
• To improve organizations revenues through opportunities for conversions, retrofits & Constructions
• To attend to clients on a regular basis to understand retrofit and construction requirements.
• Management of key relationship between the Departments, Clients, Suppliers, and employees as required for engineering matters.
• Implement new techniques and technologies day to day operations, Bring expertise in engineering process optimization and improvements.
• Manage all engineering resources with efficient methodologies, innovative ways and monitor systems to forecast Engineering resources requirements.
• Ensure compliance to standards of all specifications and scope of works been sent out. Ensure the design and the drawings are compliant with the relevant Codes and Standards & Engineering Procedure.
• Keep track of the efficiency of the company Engineering resources against the project budgets, report resources allocation and distribution.
• Ensure proper cost allocation of the resources within the department, transform the department into a profit center.
• Daily Monitor the engineering resources effectively and efficiently on all projects.
• Liaising and advising production management and suppliers on matters related to project Engineering and error prevention.
• Set KPI’s for each resources within the department
• Develop new resources and support the Bahrainization program. Establish training and development program in collaboration with HR.
• Ensure material selection complies with customer requirements and all relevant rules & standards.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
• At least 10 years’ experience in maritime industry Engineering functions such as New construction and existing Ship/Rig conversions and retrofits
• Minimum 5 years must have been in a Supervisory position
• A high Standard of general education i.e. Bachelor Degree, in Engineering/Naval Architect.
• Understanding of industry including risk management, compliance, and regulatory requirements. Understanding of Corporate structures and departments (IT, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, HSE…)
• MBA as a plus
