About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Marine Surveyor to conduct precise hydrographic and geophysical surveys in support of marine construction, dredging, and offshore projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate data collection, processing, and reporting to guide safe and efficient marine operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Survey Operations: Plan and execute hydrographic surveys using multibeam echosounders (MBES), single-beam echosounders (SBES), side-scan sonar (SSS), and sub-bottom profilers.
• Data Processing: Analyze and process survey data using specialized software (e.g., QPS Qimera, Teledyne CARIS, Hypack, EIVA NaviSuite).
• Reporting: Prepare detailed survey reports, charts, and maps for clients, project teams, and regulatory authorities.
• Positioning Systems: Operate and maintain GNSS, RTK, and USBL positioning systems to ensure accurate geospatial data.
• Project Support: Provide survey support for dredging, pipeline installation, cable laying, offshore structure placement, and pre/post-construction monitoring.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all surveys comply with IHO standards and project specifications.
• Equipment Maintenance: Manage calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of survey equipment and systems.
• HSE Compliance: Adhere to and promote strict health, safety, and environmental protocols during all survey operations.
Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience:
• Diploma or degree in Hydrography, Geomatics, Marine Geophysics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Marine Surveyor in offshore, dredging, or marine construction projects.
Proficiency with:
• Multibeam and single-beam echosounders (e.g., Kongsberg, Reson, R2Sonic)
• Positioning systems (GNSS, RTK, USBL)
• Survey software (e.g., Hypack, Qimera, CARIS, EIVA)
• Knowledge of IHO Standards (Order 1a/2a) and QA/QC procedures.
• Ability to work offshore on a rotational schedule and in varied weather conditions.
Preferred Certifications:
• FIG/IHO/ICA Category B or A Certification.
• GWO/STCW offshore safety training.
• Professional Surveyor License (region-specific).
