Operations Specialist - Maritime / Shipping

Charterhouse are undertaking a search for an International Shipping company, which specialises in Husbanding, Fuel Supply, Logistics and Aviation support to its Maritime clients.

As a result of increased demand, our client is in search of an Operations Specialist to hire into their newly created office in Manama, Bahrain, working closely with on-the-ground agents and clients. The new office is heavily supported by its Dubai, UAE office.

This role will be responsible for all matters relating to the service and supplies contracts, in the military husbanding field within Bahrain and the wider GCC, in line with the terms outlined in client contracts and company guidelines. The Operations Specialist will ensure strong lines of communication between the company, the client and the local agents, based in the various ports, in order to prepare ship visits / or the objective, to the highest standard. In conjunction, this role will prepare all trade services contracts (local, international, navy) whilst analyzing and negotiating prices ensuring the best economic outcome. This associate level role will occasionally attend on-site operations, in order to monitor conduct, train agents and oversee any audits or emergencies, ensuring their tractability.

Requirements

Our client will look to hire an eager and ambitious associate / junior level professional whom is able to demonstrate a sustained track record within a maritime, shipping or logistics environment, for a small or regional office that has operations within the GCC region. The successful candidate will have essential experience accurately executing operational service /or supplier contracts, and have the ability to negotiate when necessary.

The Operations Specialist will hold a bachelor’s Degree in a relative field from an internationally recognised University and be comfortable with figures. The ideal candidate must be fluent in English to a professional level, both written and verbal.
