Project Engineer

Job description / Role

The Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing engineering projects from conception through completion.
This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring projects meet technical specifications, timelines, and
budgets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work
collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Business Factors
• Project Sales: Ensuring Sales, Quotation and estimation are completed on time.
• Project Efficiency: Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Quality Assurance: Maintaining high standards of quality and adherence to technical specifications.
• Stakeholder Communication: Facilitating effective communication among project teams, clients, and management.
• Risk Management: Identifying potential project risks and implementing mitigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities
• Plan, execute, and oversee engineering projects, ensuring adherence to specifications and timelines.
• Collaborate with design, construction, and operations teams to ensure project alignment and success.
• Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Conduct regular project meetings to review progress, address challenges, and ensure alignment with objectives.
• Prepare and present project reports, including status updates, risk assessments, and budget forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs effectively.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff as needed.

KPI
• Project Completion Rate: Percentage of projects completed on time and within budget.
• Quality Metrics: Number of defects or issues reported during and after project completion.
• Stakeholder Satisfaction: Feedback from clients and team members regarding communication and project delivery.
• Change Order Frequency: Number of changes to project scope or budget, indicating project stability.
• Resource Utilization: Efficiency of resource allocation and usage throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements Essential Desirable
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, civil, electrical, or related field).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.

Work Experience
• 3-5 years of experience in sales /project engineering, preferably in a relevant industry.
• Experience managing engineering projects from inception to completion is preferred.
