Purchasing Officer

Job description / Role

Key tasks
- Responsible for all hotel purchases at the most economical and best quality.
- Work closely with the Cost Controller to establish good purchase specification.
- Report to the supplier immediately for any wrong delivery and return the goods at supplier's expense.
- Work closely with the Executive Chef, F&B Cost Controller, Receiver and Storekeeper to enable smooth receiving of items ordered.
- Liaise with Department Heads for proper control of Direct Purchases.
- Maintain good relations with suppliers in order to understand the market.
- Assist other departments with all purchase-related queries.
- Make cheque requisition to the Accounting for Advance Payments.
- Make insurance claims for goods damaged or received short.
- Obtain minimum of three quotations from the suppliers.
- Conduct Market Survey at regular intervals to keep pace with the latest trends in the market.
- Make regular Market Survey for new suppliers and new products.
- Update the vendor's list on current basis.
- Perform related duties as assigned.

Essential and optional requirements
- University graduate in Business Management or related course.
- At least 3 years experience in the same capacity preferably in 4* or 5* Hotels
- Excel
- Word
