Reach Truck Operator

Job description / Role

Job purpose
Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials, move stock to/from storage areas and support day-to-day warehouse operations.

Duties and responsibilities

• Load, unload, transfer and receive warehouse items.
• Operate reach truck to transport materials to different facility locations.
• Secure and optimize loads for safe transport.
• Rack and pick items according to standards and procedures.
• Maintain simple inventory records and location accuracy.
• Inspect reach trucks and other assigned equipment and report damages or maintenance needs.
• Identify workplace safety hazards and adhere to company safety standards.
• Assist packing yard operations and ensure items are transported safely.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar reach truck / warehouse role.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Reach truck certification (OSHA or equivalent) — must be current.
• Basic computer skills (for simple inventory / scanning tasks).
• Strong attention to safety, good teamwork and time management skills.
• Good reading and basic math skills.
• Previous experience in fast-paced logistics or FMCG warehouses is added advantage
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or handheld scanners is added advantage.
