Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Retail Supervisor (4-5 Years Experience in Supervising a Retail Outlet)

Purpose: To support the Retail Manager in the day to day running of the sales floor operation. Assist with delivering the commercial and service objectives. In absence of the Retail manager the Team Leader will assume full responsibility for the store.

Key Tasks:
- Lead by example, ensuring that excellent customer service is provided by the store teams at all times and any customer issues communicated to the Retail Manager
- Support the Retail Manager in setting and achieving commercial and customer service objectives
- Support the management team to ensure that the store teams are trained, motivated and developed within their current role by offering regular coaching and support.
- Effectively use sales and stock reports to understand current store performance and drive sales. Work with the Retail Manager to plan improvements in performance where necessary.
- Analyze stock information to ensure that all available products are displayed on the sales floor at all times
- Work with the Retail Manager to achieve satisfactory mystery shop results and help implement action plans to improve future results.
- Ensure manpower scheduling makes optimal use of resources
- Assume full responsibility for the store in the absence of the Retail Manager and ensure that your own training and development supports this.
- Provide regular product knowledge, customer service and sales training to store team.
- Ensure effective communication to the store team, informing them of daily targets and appropriate company, operational and product changes in the absence of the Retail Manager.
- Fully support the Retail manager in appraisal of staff through own observations and performance management of the team
- Maintain impeccable store cleanliness, visual and merchandising standards
- Control costs in store by adherence to policies and procedures.
- Role model company expectations in terms of product knowledge, customer service, sales and adherence to operational excellence.
- Process sales and record sales transactions. Close daily sales transactions.
- Ensure that store procedures and guidelines for merchandising and storage are implemented. Oversee visual merchandising within the store.
- Conduct store orientation for new employees.
- Produce reports, as required.
- Gather customer data. Provide customers with information regarding future events.
- Attend and contribute to regular line management and team meetings.
- Carry out assignments as directed line manager.

Requirements

- Should at least have a college certificate or diploma.
- Fluent in English,
- Three years experience in a similar environment and one year of supervisory experience.
- Should have highly effective communication and inter-personal skills.
- Effective training skills.
- Fully capable of generating reports.
- Capable to work under pressure and meet tight time deadlines.
- Fully conversant with IT software, excel, word, etc.
