Senior Duty Officer

The company:

Our client is one of the leading companies in Bahrain with over 40 years experience in world-class Facilities, operational and commercial excellence. Currently they are looking for Senior Duty Officer - Baggage Services to be based in Bahrain.

Duties and responsibilities:

A shift based duty supervisor that ensures continued operation, coordinates the operations duty staff and interferes to any operational disturbance. During shift, he / she will be responsible for the efficient running of the baggage handling systems and supervision of the entire baggage operations.

- Running and supervising the operation of the BHS Department during shift tenure
- Official representative of the BHS Service Department when on duty on a Senior Duty Officer level.
- Provides operational solutions to problems with the baggage processes· Liaises with BHS Duty Supervisor Maintenance to ensure operations and maintenance are coordinated
- Liaises with other duty managers of the airport such as Terminal Duty Manager, Airside Duty Manager, Ground Handling Duty Manager, Airlines Duty Manager and MOI Duty Officer.
- Adjusts shift roster to cover for ad hoc changes ensuring adequate staff coverage
- Leads the baggage operations team in a safe manner
- Being the shift in-charge, take appropriate steps for the staff on shift based on approved company policy
- Ensures and coordinates staff breaks during shift by organizing break rosters.
- Prepare shift report at the end of the shift
- Monitors BHS operations staff attendance
- Ensures there is no down time or delays in baggage delivery and processing
- Monitors and adjusts performance of baggage operations' third party contractors
- Monitors own staff and third parties' compliance with rules and regulations such as driving and maneuvering, IATA, ICAO and national and international regulations of safety, security and aviation.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Ensures compliance with safety regulations and policies
- Baggage handling services in charge when on duty.
- Ensures all staff is in a position to adhere to all processes
- Ensures continued operation during all kind of scenarios and constantly reacts and makes adjustments to the operation of the BHS team and stakeholders.
- BHS Operations representative and liaison to all other departments, airlines, ground handlers, MOI and passengers.
- Liaises closely with ASG, Terminal and APOC Duty Officers

Requirements

Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in any discipline (Engineering or Aviation management preferred)
- Minimum 3 -7 years of experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Leadership and management skills
