Company:
• Our client is a wholesale bank in Bahrain. They are currently looking to recruit a Senior Manager - Credit Unit

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Liaise with Business Development Department “BDD” to obtain Credit Proposals for any new or additional facility, or revision/renewal of an existing facility, in addition to necessary financial and non-financial information of the counterparty, at least 30 days prior to the expiry date of the limits; the Credit Proposal should include Limits recommended by BDD, Account Relationship, Business Perspective of the Counterparty, and Recent Developments.
• Review Credit Application (CA) prepared by the Credit Unit for a new or additional facility, or revision/renewal of an existing facility, upon receiving the Credit Proposals from BDD; the CA should cover the following parameters: Purpose of Financing, Background and Ownership, Rating, Collateral, Financial Reporting, Summary and Recommendations.
• Review Scorecards in conjunction with CAs; the Scorecard would generate an internal rating grade for the counter-party, based on financial and non-financial parameters.
• Review Memos prepared by the Credit Unit to be submitted to the appropriate level of authority for approval on new and additional credit limits; the Memo should include the following parameters: Tenor of limits, validity of limits approval in relation to internal rating grades, and status of CAs.
• Review Memos prepared by the Credit Unit to be submitted to RCD for extension of existing credit limits, upon receiving requests from BDD; the Memo should include justification for the extension, and status of CAs.
• Ensure timely completion, with particular emphasis on the quality of work, and submission of full credit reviews (CA and Scorecards) to RCD in order to be reviewed before it is presented to the appropriate level of authority for final review and approval, as per the Credit Approval Authority Matrix.
• Update and maintain the Credit Policies and Procedures on a regular basis to ensure that any new procedure is incorporated accordingly.
• Perform any other assignments requested by the top management in a competent and professional manner.

Salary:
BHD 3,000 to 3,500 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience
• Relevant University degree (Professional qualification preferred)
• Comprehensive knowledge of banking products
• Numeracy and Computer literacy
• Good communication and writing skills in English, preferably also Arabic language skills
• Relevant work experience in a bank or financial institution
