Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Key purpose

- The position is to join a small team of Engineers and Technicians, responsible for the 24/7 serviceability of multiple radar systems to ensure that all ATC Radar systems are serviceable and maintained to the highest achievable standard.

Structure and reporting relationship

- The role will report to Manager CNS/ATM Projects

Key accountabilities

- Uninterrupted 24/7 provision of radar data to Bahrain's flight information centre from various sources, Both primary and mode S
- Assimilation and integration of multiple radar sources to and from the GCC region.
- Uninterrupted provision of Airport Surface Movement and Guidance Control System data.
- Uninterrupted provision of weather radar data, wind profiling data and all associated processing systems.
- Adaptation, configuration and optimization of the above.
- Provision of advice and guidance to the BCAA on all matters relating to radar.
- Scheduling and ensuring the completion of routine/ non routine maintenance of all radar equipment.
- Ensure competency of subordinate staff.

Requirements

Essential technical and professional skills, knowledge and qualifications

- Degree in a recognized electronics engineering discipline, or relevant military qualifications.
- Comprehensive experience in Airport Radar systems
- This position requires a high level of radar theoretical knowledge and hands on attitude.
- In depth knowledge of the following:
- Primary Radar principles
- Secondary radar including Mode S.
- Multilateration techniques, ADSB.
- Radar processing and data fusion system
- Familiarity with ICAO regulations with respect to the operation of radar system in both an ACC and airport environment.

Experience of the following equipment :

- Seles Primary radar.
- Seles Mode S secondary Radar.
- SAAB Senses ASMGCS.
- EEC Meteorological radar.
- Wind profiling system.

Additional / special features of the role

- Ensure compliance with the Serco Management System and all relevant business processes, procedures and work instructions to deliver all work with appropriate quality and governance standards
- Ensure security and integrity of all data provided including reporting performance, finance and customer information; reference Serco non-disclosure policy
- To exercise personal duty of care for their own health, safety and welfare and for those affected by their acts or omissions; reference SMS GSOP-HSE1-6 Serco organisational HSE responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all training requirements of Serco and ensure adherence to these requirements at all times whilst in employment
- Report any accidents, incidents, breaches or potential breaches to appropriate management or the speak up process
