Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

We’re looking for someone who can create real value for our clients. So you’ll need to be a strong communicator, able to get a team of consultants working together effectively to deliver the results of our clients need.

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring of design approach and design progress
- Detection and handling of challenges in potable water & firefighting design process regarding compliance, completeness, impact on time schedule etc.
- Check of completeness
- Supporting the Project Manager in bid review, assisting in approval process and other duties
- Act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters
- Review of the design provided by the designers of the relevant trade according to all requirements and the designers scope of works as mentioned in the designers contract
- Preparation of a design report including all relevant comments for redesign, adjustment supplements if any according to the formal checking guidelines given by the design manager
- Check if implementation of the comment is done by the designer in an sufficient way
- Check if the design is economical with regard to construction costs as well as operation and maintenance costs
- Coordination with all other related design team members (interface coordination)
- Preparation of a detailed interface list to the other subjects with regard to the BOQ
- Examination and Evaluation of the subject-related contract documents
- Giving ideas (know-how-input) in case that possible optimizations are not considered yet
- Enforcement of quality and time instructions
- Check, if the design is good engineering practice (State of the Art)
- Identifying of additional necessary design activities
- Responsibility for meeting the requirements of the contract in terms of scope, performance, quality and safety developers
- Contact person for related local authorities

Requirements

- University degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 8 to 12 years work experience
- GCC Experience a must
- Strong knowledge and experience with design and construction of large-scale infrastructure project
- Sound knowledge of industry best practice, local codes and regulations
- Good written and oral presentation skills
