Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

A Management Consultancy firm is currently seeking a VAT technology specialist, who will be handling the creation and implementation of technology to automate the VAT compliance by creating a working technology architecture/framework into the ERP system.

Responsibilities will include:
• Provide tax technology and IT systems development solutions focused on managing Global Indirect Taxes.
• Support the development of Indirect Tax compliance functionality and assist with the reviews and maintenance of the Indirect Tax compliance process.
• Support implementation roll outs for VAT processes, risk management and VAT automation.
• Identify systems process improvement opportunities for existing processes and controls and drive positive change.
• Assist with review and maintenance of indirect tax compliance process controls and provide VAT Technology guidance for the business and tax teams.
• Participate in ERP & IT structure design and initiate system strategy planning and follow through to deployments based on project needs.
• Manage & monitor Tax Automation Functions in ERP, such as VAT Codes, and Indirect Tax reporting functions.
• Dealing with and liaising with top management, finance & taxation departments, as well as taxation authorities, joint venture partners relating to tax planning, tax audit support and accounting processes assessing the implications on the business activities.

Requirements

• Around 5 - 7 years of experience in VAT & technology implementation & integration.
• Minimum of Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science / Information Technology.
• Working knowledge of various ERP systems and Indirect tax technology solution areas.
• Working knowledge of Indirect Taxation compliance processes.
