Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

SUMMARY:
Support the CEO and the Management team by exercising overall responsibility and control over the financial position of the company and its subsidiaries, including financial administration, planning, directing and monitoring all revenue and expenses, treasury functionality, financial planning and taxation, adherence to Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) directives, IFRS and other regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure accurate and comprehensive financial systems are established and maintained in order to provide appropriate levels of security and control over the Bank’s resources and operations.
• Prepare the Bank’s annual budget. Liaise with all departments to gather the necessary budget input and ensure that the budget figures are revised / updated as required by management.
• Present to the board balanced and understandable assessment of the bank's financial situation.
• Ensure that periodic regulatory returns are prepared accurately and submitted to CBB and other regulatory bodies as applicable on time.
• Report to the CBB on fulfillment of statutory requirements covering books of accounts for balance sheets, profit & loss a/c and capital adequacy.
• Ensure timely submission of all Basel 3 reports to CBB in coordination with Risk Management Department.
• Exercise overview of the Treasury functionality including the Bank’s placements, borrowing, renewals, roll-overs, and other related activities including maintenance of open positions, foreign currency balances, etc.
• Generate periodic reports for discussion at Assets & Liabilities Committee (ALCO) including cost of funds, yield on funds, statement of structural liquidity (liquidity maturity mismatch analysis), cash flow statements, liquidity risk tolerance ratios, etc.
• Ensure that the Financial Control Procedure Manual is reviewed periodically and updated with the due approval of the Risk Executive Committee.
• Actively participate in the CBB Prudential Meeting and other meetings such as the quarterly/annual financials meetings with the regulator and provide all required information / clarification as required.
• Liaise with Risk Management & compliance Department to provide all required data and information for CBB and or other external bodies like rating agencies.
• Plan & arrange necessary resources for timely compliance with provisions of the Bahrain Value Added Tax Law;
• Filing deadlines and in compliance with the local VAT laws and policies
• Develop, implement and maintain an effective planning and analysis capability that will provide senior leadership with appropriate analytical tools to establish goals and measure performance of the Bank’s portfolio of businesses.
• Develop and execute processes to allow for routine analytical reviews of Group financial and operational performance, leveraging business unit analytical resources and tools.

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
• Post Graduate Degree in Financial Accounting or related subject
• Professional certifications such as CPA / CIMA / ACA / ACCA is desirable

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIRED:
• Over 7 years of relevant experience focusing on managing the financial and accounting activities
• Strong financial accounting skills
• Competency in handling automated accounting software
• Treasury supervisory functionality and associated skills
• Solid experience in financial planning and taxation
• Leadership and managerial skills
• Time management Skills
• Capable of understanding and implementing requirements of Taxation Laws.
