Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

GV Immigration Services is hiring for one of its esteemed clients with chain of dine-in and quick service restaurants in Ontario.

• The Cook is responsible for the preparation of high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner.
• Prepare, pre-cook, and/or cook food products as directed.
• The Cook must be prepared to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment while maintaining the ability to identify and act on job duties quickly and effectively.
• Cook must be prepared to work as a team member in a dynamic workplace, follow all safety procedures, and have a high threshold for heat in a kitchen environment.
• Memorize, record and comprehend menu items, abbreviations, plate appearances and portions
• Prepare "mise en place" (setting in place of foods, garnishes, sauces, dishes, cutlery, etc) and other products as required for high volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures.
• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverage products in appropriate storage areas.
• Communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments.
• Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately.

Employer will provide work permit and support with LMIA for the right candidates
Candidates will have to pay the cost of visa application and arrange for relocation, travel etc with or without family.
Please note this position requires the flexibility to work several shifts, including opening morning shifts / breakfast shifts.

Salary:
USD 2,700 to 3,500 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

Other certifications obtained: Food Safety Certification (Preferred)

Nature and length of previous experience: Minimum 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience required

Soft Skills and Personality traits: Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Team player, multitasking, and patience is key.

Language Fluency: English
University Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent
