Lead MEP Estimator

Job description / Role

Client:
Linum Consult’s client is a major consultancy, currently seeking a Lead MEP Estimator from a Real Estate background to join their team in Vancouver, Canada.

Responsibilities:
• Overseeing the MEP resources for Western Canada
• Managing a team of Estimators and leading the cost estimate production
• Preparing Mechanical and Electrical cost estimates for real estate projects
• Assisting with business development opportunities with existing and new clients
• Constructing proposals for new work or variations for existing projects
• Finding new ways to improve internal systems and processes, and referring ideas to the relevant line manager
• Participating in value engineering, LEED analysis, and life cycle costing
• Effectively managing post-contract cost variance and change control processes
• Preparing and quantifying cost plan reports, including the measurement of detailed quantities and unit pricing

Requirements

Profile:
• Degree qualification in Construction or a similar subject from a recognized university, with a membership to RICS, CIQS, AACEI or similar
• 10 years’ experience in cost control within the real estate sector
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in using MS Office software
• The right to live and work in Canada, with extensive experience in the Canadian construction market
