Position Objective
The Financial Controller Division, under the Finance, Budget, and Accounting Department, is functionally responsible for ensuring the smooth financial operations of the Bank which includes oversight on the Bank’s Financial Statements, General Ledger and Budget. The Financial Controller Division leads in the application of financial control interventions that are critical to ensuring NDB operates in compliance with relevant regulations and governance standards (i.e., International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) while maintaining its reputation and credibility.

Purpose (Analyze)
- Prepare budgets, forecasts and utilization of budgets with respect to the operating expenses of the Bank;
- Analyse the trends in operating expenses;
- Ensure all the budget-related information is maintained in the budgeting system.

Engagement (Collaborate)
- Engage with other departments to understand the utilization trends and prepare explanations;
- Actively engage with other departments on the preparation of the budgets and forecasts;
- Engagement with other IFIs to understand the best practices.

Delivery (Manage the project cycle)
- Support in delivering the budget utilisation of the Bank;
- Prepare the budget proposal for the Bank;
- Assess the effectiveness of operating expenses.

Requirements:

- Master’s degree or equivalent in Finance or related field;
- At least 5 years of relevant experience;
- Extensive experience in budgeting & planning of a development / commercial bank;
- Fluency in English essential to communicate in writing and speaking.

The first regional office of NDB – the Africa Regional Centre (ARC) – was opened in Johannesburg, South Africa, in August 2017. In July 2019, NDB began to build the Americas Regional Office team, based in São Paulo, Brazil, with a sub-office in Brasília. NDB and the Government of Russia signed the Agreement on the Hosting of the NDB Eurasian Regional Centre in Moscow, Russia on the sidelines of the 11th BRICS Summit in Brasília in November 2019.
