Testing & Commissioning Engineer

Job description / Role

GDMS-Italy is hiring Testing & Commissioning (TCE) Engineer(s), responsible for the testing and acceptance of various Telecommunication and Physical Security systems, provided as a fully integrated system supporting an Oil&Gas infrastructure to be delivered to a key GDMS-Italy’s customer.

TCE will be responsible for testing and commissioning of one or more of the following Systems Radio Systems (Digital UHF, MW LOS, Inmarsat, Iridium Phones, Non-Directional Beacon, VHF Aeronautical & Marine, RADAR Early Warning, AIS), Telecommunication Systems (LAN-WAN, IP PABX, Hotline, Video Conference, Voice Recorder, Telecommunication and Network Management), ELV Systems (Public Address, Meteorological, Entertainment, CCTV, ACS) and help to make sure that they work properly and that they meet the client’s needs. Typical tasks include:

- Work with tight deadlines and well-defined milestones for the delivery of project objectives
- Ensuring that equipment works to its specification
- Carrying out test procedures
- Investigating problems and diagnosing and repairing faults
- Troubleshooting
- Liaising with installation/project engineers
- Writing reports and documentation
- Providing technical support
- Ensuring safe working conditions
- Training maintenance and operative staff where appropriate

Requirements

The TCE Engineer will:
- Be an excellent problem solver who can determine the main source of product issues and provide quick, elegant solutions.
- Have significant job experience in troubleshooting and testing of the systems under her(his) responsibility
- Be self-motivated and work independently as well as in teams
- Be fluent in English, comprehension, reading, writing, and interpersonal skill

Education:
- An ICT Technical diploma or Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Telecommunication Engineering or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
