Muslims in Australia have a long and vibrant history. Approximately 300,000 Muslims now live in Australia, and there are over 100 mosques. The Australian Government has made a commitment to explore with the Australian Muslim Community representatives and the wider community how we can best promote the common goals of harmony and mutual understanding. The Arab community in Australia, numbering over 210,000, is diverse and includes many high-profile and successful members.
