In 60 years, ECL has gone through many changes leading to its specialization in the primary aluminium equipment supply and its position as a leader in the industry.

ECL was created on the 5th of September 1947 in Lille by:
- Robert DEBUIRE a mechanical structure engineer,
- Joseph TELLA, an electrical engineer,
- Daniel DUCLAUX: a mechanical engineer,

The aim of the company is to "engineer, produce and commission all types of metallic, mechanical and electrical equipment ".
