The IHC was established by Law Number (6) of 2007. H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai issued a new Law Number (1) of 2012 concerning the IHC.

Established by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the International Humanitarian City (IHC) is a non-profit, independent free-zone authority mandated to facilitate international humanitarian aid. The IHC is among the 28 entities that make up the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, the largest development foundation in the Middle East. IHC puts Dubai’s expertise in transport, logistics and innovation at work, enabling aid agencies to reach victims of crises and alleviate the suffering of those who are scarred by hunger and poverty.
