Salzburger Aluminium AG (SAG), an international supplier of Aluminum components and systems for the automotive, utility vehicle, aviation, motorcycle, and rail industries and Aluminum high-performance materials for the manufacturing industry is to open a new branch office (Joint Venture) in Oman. For this purpose a new company - SAG Sohar L.L.C. will be founded. This is a Joint Venture between SAG and Takamul Investments. The investment volume in the new foundry, which is to have an annual capacity of 30,000 tonnes, is around ten million euros. From the Oman base, markets in the Middle East and Asia should be developed. SAG has an export quota of 86%. In the Netherlands, Sweden, France, Slovakia, SAG has its own subsidiaries. 2007 SAG expect a turnover of EUR 365 million. The group employs a workforce of over 1000, almost 600 of whom are in Austria.

Among SAG AG´s customers are all well-known German automobile companies such as Volkswagen, Daimler–Chrysler and BMW along with famous names like Siemens, MAN or Liebherr. With over 400 employees, SAG AG achieved a consolidated turnover of over 220 million euros in 2004. The company, with five subsidiaries, also has a particularly successful export record.
