World Security evolved from the Security division of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC), which was established in 1975. The Security division is responsible for upholding international and national security standards and serving the diverse needs of an international growing port and free zone.

The commercial company began operating in May 2004, after market studies highlighted the need for an in-house security company to protect group assets and implement higher standards than available in the market. Prior to May 2008, the company was formerly known as Dubai Security Services (DSS). 2008 sees a re-brand to reflect the massive growth in the company, the increased service offering and the move to service international contracts. World Security provides the full scope of security services for any industry; from security guards in shopping centres to designing and operating command and control centres for mega developments.
