Role Summary:

As part of our growing Finance team, you will be an integral team member of our Global Operations Center in Cairo, Egypt. As a Specialist you will be responsible for partnering with one of GE's global business units, actively participating in the monthly and quarterly close Record to Report and account reconciliation processes.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsible for general accounting and policy application for all cycles The Account Reconciliation Specialist is an entry-level accounting position responsible for the reconciliation of outstanding balances. This is an accounting support position in a fast paced centralized accounting services environment providing financial services to community associations throughout META.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

- Leading the follow up with counterparties around the globe to reconcile BS accounts
- Ensure general ledger transactions are timely & accurately reported in the correct entity
- Ensure the general ledger balance sheet amounts are accurate & reflect proper amounts.
- Identify, document, track and explain transactional differences between the General Ledger (G/L) and Sub-Ledger Balances and/or independent sources
- Identify and guard against fraudulent activity and reduce losses
- lead to root cause analysis on operational defects
- Coordinating with business Finance stakeholders on closing activities and financial reporting routines
- Developing of standard operating procedures to simplify transactional processes that impact the financial statements
- Support in various ongoing account reconciliation process fixing and simplification initiatives is often reviewed by others.

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Solid knowledge of accounting fundamentals: AP/ AR Cash and Expenses
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- 1 to 3 years of experience as general accountant
- Proven analytical skills, and knowledge of MS Office in particular Excel with 1 or 2 years of experience - Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Highly motivated: Willing to embrace challenges and passionate to succeed
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Successful applicant will be legally eligible to enter into an employment relationship under the laws of Egypt
- SAP / Oracle system experience
