Job Summary

The Design Engineer develops waste management strategy, and system design in mega projects. He/She will be responsible for concept to detailed design and tender documents for waste collection, transport, treatment and landfilling.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare master planning conceptual and detailed for waste management systems
• Perform full design of waste management systems for mega projects
• Perform Waste generation modelling, including characterization, classification and assessment
• Prepare Operational waste management strategy, including reduction methodology, source separation, collection, and temporary storage.
• Provide detailed design drawings, Revit modelling, equipment sizing specifications, and BOQs for all waste management phases such as:
• Waste chutes, and AWCS
• Waste transfer stations, and logistics
• waste treatment including MRFs, MBTs, WTEs, with different technologies (tunnel composting, anaerobic digestion, incineration, gasification, pyrolysis, optical sorting, etc..)
• Waste disposal, including landfill design
• Hazardous and medical waste collection system design and requirements.
• Smart waste collection including GIS supported routing, smart bins, tracking systems, data analysis and monitoring systems.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, chemical, or mechanical Engineering,
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in waste management systems design as per Job duties
• Full knowledge of international codes and standards for waste management
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in waste projects in Gulf region
• Professional user of AutoCAD
• Professional user of Revit 3-D modelling
• Proficiency in spoken and written English & Arabic
• Proficiency in spoken and written English & Arabic is an advantage
