Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM is looking for an experienced OEM focused IA Client Technical Professional to represent IBM Data and AI software in a pre-sales role.

An IA CTP is responsible for providing pre-sales technical support and assistance for customers. They will work to understand the customer's business needs and technical challenges. They deliver high quality solution presentations and demonstrations to clients in response to varying business requirements by utilizing product, technology, industry and business skills. The IA CTP has an understanding of products, offerings and services within their specialty.

Additional Responsibilities

An IA CTP will actively seek and identify new sales opportunities. They provide technical sales support which may include : collaboration with IBM sales teams to define, design, and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions; lead and deliver Proof of Concepts; develop and deliver customized demonstrations; support critical situations; and answer technical questions. As a member of the sales team, they will be engaged in customer facing activities, be responsible for the technical accuracy of the proposed solution and lead the technical aspects of the sale.

Requirements

Candidate Qualifications
- Programming and scripting experience a plus.
- Application installation and system administration experience.
- Previous experience with Packaged Software and Software Engineering tools.
- Proven record of ability to learn new products and technologies.
- Ability to articulate the IA solution in relation to the customer's situation.
- Knowledge of the key IA competitors, their strengths and weaknesses, and ability to differentiate IA products.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- You will have at least 2-5 years of hands on & architectural experience in one or more of the following areas
- IBM Databases
- Big Data Technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, NiFi etc. mainly on Cloudera Clusters
- NoSQL Technologies such as MongoDB, Apache Cassandra (DataStax)
- RDBMSs such as PostgreSQL, EnterpriseDB
- Exposure to newer technologies like Data Virtualization, Data Governance and Data Science will be required
- Hands on experience in conducting demos and Proof of Concepts
