Deputy Head of PMO - Egypt

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manager shall:

The Head of PMO will mentor and coach the full Programme team as required, and will specifically support the Programme Manager and Project Managers. He/She will have overall management responsibility for the PMO to include Governance, Planning, Stakeholder Management, Reporting, Change Control, Document Management, Quality Management including Audits, proactive health checks and lessons learned. Specific line management responsibility for the Deputy Head of PMO, Project Analysts, Quality Analyst and the Administration resources.

He/She will also be fully responsible for establishing the PMO function across the Programme from an internal, vendor and customer perspective and act as the SME in relation to the PMO function for the organisation and will be the lead point of contact and management for the assigned Programme. He/She will be able to implement and improve governance model, ensuring fit for purpose, effective in terms of timing, constitution, authority and approval levels and have the required inputs and outputs to enable effective decision making.

Requirements

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 10-15 years of experience in managing project management office.
- Extensive experience of working on large scale Metro/Rail Projects

QUALIFICATION & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum a Bachelor Degree or equivalent in relevant field
- 10 years of managerial experience is MUST.
- Certification in Project Management

PREFERRED SKILLS
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in a very challenging PMO environment as part of a large PMO team or on a large delivery focused Programme.
- Experience of implementing & embedding new PMO processes & governance model. Highly experienced stakeholder management skills.
- Exhibit leadership in identifying and resolving issues
- Able to understand the baseline programme timeline and working with the programme team identify risks and issues that could impact the delivery plan
- Provide mentoring and coaching specifically to the Project Managers/Project Leads and Project Engineers in all functions of the PMO.
- Demonstrable expertise in Heading up PMO functions. Expertise in setting up PMO functions from scratch and selling across the Programme Team/Organisation
- Experience in leading the governance within large Programme environments, such as Programme boards and senior stakeholder reporting.
