The role
The role of the EYFS coordinator / English teacher is essentially to assist in the leadership and management of the pre-school and to work closely with principals of the pre-school to manage teaching and learning. To provide leadership in outstanding EYFS teaching and learning and supervise the EYFS English teaching staff, along with principals. This is a full-time EYFS English teaching role with some release hours for EYFS coordination.

Responsibilities
- Be part of a core team to design and lead in preparing a challenging, innovative and exciting EYFS curriculum for pupils entering Pre-Nursery, Kindergarten 1, Kindergarten 2 and Kindergarten 3 which will enable them to flourish and achieve their full potential.
- Support assessment and monitoring pupil progress in EYFS (especially in K2, K3) and provide clear learning targets in the EYFS curriculum that are mapped to the EYFS learning outcomes so that all learners can see success and improve.
- Design, prepare and deliver inspiring and challenging EYFS lessons to suit the individual needs of all pupils.
- Promote the enjoyment of learning of the prime and specific areas in the EYFS through early childhood-primary strategies.
- Nurture meaningful relationships with pupils and their families and provide the individual attention they need.
- Support in the process of monitoring and evaluation of EYFS curriculum areas in line with agreed school policies and procedures, including evaluation against quality standards and performance criteria. To seek and implement modification and improvement where required.
- Support in conducting learning walks and provide regular feedback for teachers in a way which recognises good practice and results in tangible impact on pupil learning.
- Participate in school activities (some on evenings and weekends) such as new pupil enrollment and parent interviews, conferences, workshops, and any other roles as identified by the leadership team.
- Manage the EYFS budget.
- Organize library and EYFS resources.
- Support leading EYFS staff meetings and weekly whole school staff meetings.
Requirements
- University degree and a recognized qualification (such as PGCE) in early childhood education.
- Native-level English speaker.
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in early years education, ideally with experience in an international educational setting.
- Experience in leading teams or departments.
- Experience with the EYFS programme is preferred.
- Knowledge of early years curriculum development and assessment.
- Knowledge or experience of the Reggio Emilia approach is advantageous.
