Job overview
We are delighted to be supporting Harrow International School Shanghai, one of the flagship schools within the AISL Harrow Family of Schools, in the appointment of its next Head, following the present Head Master’s appointment as the Founding Head of Harrow Guangzhou. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to lead a thriving international school that blends academic excellence with a rich co-curricular programme and a strong commitment to character education.
Founded in 2016 and drawing on the heritage of Harrow School in London (est. 1572), Harrow Shanghai delivers a world-class British-style education through the English National Curriculum, adapted to the dynamic context of Shanghai. The school offers a holistic, values-driven experience for pupils aged 18 months to 18 years, blending rigorous academics with leadership, service, and personal development.
Set on a modern campus in Pudong, the school provides a nurturing environment where students thrive intellectually and socially. The extensive co-curricular programme includes competitive sports, music, drama, and international expeditions, supported by outstanding pastoral care and a strong House system.
Located in one of the world’s most vibrant cities, Harrow Shanghai benefits from exceptional facilities and a diverse, international community. The successful candidate will be a highly visible and inspirational leader, capable of engaging effectively with pupils, staff, and parents, and of driving the school’s continued development on the global stage.
This role would suit an ambitious and forward-thinking individual with a proven track record of educational leadership, a passion for learning, and a commitment to excellence. The next Head will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Harrow Shanghai and contributing to the wider strategic vision of the AISL Harrow group.
The school and the group are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and relevant international police checks.
