Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Exciting career opportunity in the Manufacturing function, in the capacity of Health, Safety & Environment Lead , Gum & Candy plant, based in Alex Egypt.

The main purpose of the role is to implement, manage and co-ordinate all Safety and Environmental programs and processes at BTOR plant, ensure safe working place at the Plant, prevent asset losses, and guarantee compliance with local regulations and relevant Mondelez policies.

Main Responsibilities:

S&E Management System
- Establish and maintain S&E management system to manage product quality and plant safety and environment protection in a way, which ascertains continuous improvement of quality and S&E KPI's (e.g. GMP, accidents).

S&E Policy
- Manage, define and implement a Safety and Environment Protection policy which fully respects corporate as well as local requirements in order to provide: safe working conditions and, through this, reduction of accidents and increase of safety awareness of all employees.

Risks Assessment
- Ensure that specific risk assessments (e.g. operation interruption, roaster safety, dust explosion) are performed to minimize accident risks and prevent asset losses. In addition, provide quick and cost-efficient issue solution.

Environmental Standards
Based on risk/opportunity analysis, ensure implementation of meaningful environmental standards/policies to ensure that MDLZ Operations Site are acting as a responsible citizen in society.

S&E Measurement and Control
- Measure safety and environmental performance, initiate corrective actions as appropriate and follow up on their effectiveness.

Training and Coaching
- In line with MDLZ Operations strategies and local S&E requirements, ensure environmental and safety awareness throughout the organization and conducting required trainings and coaching.

Budget Control
- Control and manage S&E budget by ensuring that all safety and environment protection measures and actions are taken in the most cost efficient way.

Integrated Management System (IMS)
- Working out (Preparation) of IMS policy (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 22000), setting goals and assuring resources and means for their realization. Knowing, obeying and acting according to IMS requirements within sb's duties. Implementing and obeying these requirements according sb's responsibilities Assuring quality and food safety of products with reference all internal and external requirements (e.g. legal, clients', ISO standards).

Safety
- Assuring safety and occupation health in the plant by obeying safety /fire protection requirements in the plant, assuring safe work conditions for employees, organizing work places according to safety rules, caring of safety work rooms/areas, taking care of equipment, tools, PPE and using them accordingly, preventing employee accidents, illnesses related to work conditions; supervising whether employees follow safety rules

Compliance
- Know the ethical and legal compliance responsibilities of the position; lead ethically and model compliant behavior; maintain an environment where employees can speak up without fear of retaliation; ensure employees in area of responsibility understand the compliance responsibilities of their jobs and actively participate in the compliance program.

OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System
- Performing obligations of Coordinator OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS), such as: Ensuring that OHSMS is established, implemented and maintained in accordance with Standard OHSAS 18001, Reporting on the performance of the OHSMS to management for review and as a basis for improvement of the OHSMS. Being able to stop the processes or operations in case of critical or unacceptable risks related to safety or heath.

Requirements

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

- University degree in Food Technology, Engineering, Environmental Sciences or related fields.
- At least 6 - 8 years of experience in industrial Safety and Environmental projects and risks prevention.
- Good knowledge of International Safety Standards (e.g. ISO 14001) and local safety/environmental regulations.
- The Development and Implementation of S&E Strategy to Ensure Safety of Our People, Integrity and Quality of Our Products.
- ISC (Integrated Supply Chain) relevant experience (Plant Management).
- Experience in IL6S.
- Fluency in English & Arabic.
- Proficiency in MS office.
- Strong stake holder management skills.
- Experience of working in a multicultural teams and environment.
- Team Player; ability to support and lead to achieve common goals.
- Strong Communication and Presentation skills.
- Problem solving: Proactive and resourceful in solving problems, offering innovative and practical solutions in dynamic environment.
