Role Summary:
As part of our growing Finance team, you will be an integral team member of our Global Operations Center in Cairo, Egypt. You will be responsible for partnering with one of GE's global business units, actively participating in the monthly and quarterly close Record-to-Report processes for that entity.

Essential Responsibilities:
The Intercompany Accountant will be responsible to oversee the overall Intercompany processes, to ensure that transactions are duly recorded in the local General Ledger.
Duties include (but are not limited to):

- Be the Point of Contact for all Intercompany related activities for BUCs owned
- Lead the follow up with counterparties around the globe to reconcile items currently pending in the Intercompany Billing System (IBS),
- Coordinating with business Finance stakeholders on closing activities and financial reporting routines,
- Perform activities on intercompany billing/settlement tool (IBS) and ERP's on a day to day basis - ensure timeliness & accuracy of data captured
- Prepare AHB files and follow up with biller team to ensure proper and timely processing of IC billing invoices,
- Perform BUC tasks including Set-Up, release of transactions, Error handling, Workflows,..
- Drive closure of IBS rejects and holds for BUCs owned,
- Support month/ quarter closing activities including booking accruals and passing relevant Edit Checks corrections,
- Prepare month-end journal entries and period close tie-outs,
- Support in preparation of relevant Account recs and ensure timely resolution of any open items
- Support in various ongoing Intercompany CoE process fixing and simplification initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Solid knowledge of accounting fundamentals: AP, AR, Cash Expenses, consolidation and Intercompany accounting
- 2 to 5 years of Experience in GL / Intercompany accounting,
- Proven analytical skills, and expert knowledge of MS Office Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Highly motivated: Willing to embrace challenges and passionate to succeed
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Successful applicant will be legally eligible to enter into an employment relationship under the laws of Egypt

Desired Characteristics:
- SAP / Oracle system experience "is a must"
- Ability to learn/ understand processes quickly and adhere to them accurately
- Knowledge of GCC VAT "is advantage"
