IT Infrastructure Engineer

Position overview (please read carefully):

We are seeking two experienced infrastructure engineers to join our client's growing cloud services team. These individuals will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions for our clients, with a primary focus on Google Cloud Platform technologies. These positions will be based in Egypt with regular travel requirements to Saudi Arabia and working hours aligned with Saudi Arabia time zone.

Important notes:

• Reporting line: Both engineers will report to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
• The infrastructure engineers will work as a pod with complementary skills.
• Collaboration model: The team will operate as an agile pod with regular standup meetings, shared project ownership, and clearly defined roles.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions including landing zones, migration strategies, and security frameworks
• Lead the technical execution of cloud migration projects, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security
• Configure and manage networking components, including VPCs, subnets, firewalls, and hybrid connectivity
• Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools
• Design and implement robust security controls and compliance mechanisms
• Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure designs and implementations
• Develop automation solutions to streamline operations and improve efficiency
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and networking issues
• Collaborate with clients to understand requirements and provide technical guidance
• Stay current with Google Cloud services and best practices
• Travel to Saudi Arabia as required for client projects (approximately 25-40% of time)
• Work during Saudi Arabia business hours, collaborating remotely when not on-site

Requirements

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure roles, with at least 3 years focusing on cloud technologies
• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform or other major cloud providers (AWS, Azure)
• Professional certification in Google Cloud (GCP Professional Cloud Architect or equivalent)
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and implementation in cloud environments
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Working knowledge of Linux/Unix system administration
• Experience implementing security controls and compliance frameworks in cloud environments
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
• Ability to work Saudi Arabia business hours (GMT+3)
• Willingness to travel to Saudi Arabia regularly for project work
• Valid passport with ability to obtain necessary visas

Preferred qualifications:

• Additional GCP certifications (Network Engineer, Security Engineer)
• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures
• Hands-on experience with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
• Experience with database migration and management in cloud environments
• Familiarity with Saudi Arabian compliance and regulatory requirements
• Experience in oil & gas, banking, or government sectors
• Knowledge of Arabic (speaking, reading, writing)
• Previous experience working with clients in the MENA region
• Experience working in a distributed team across multiple geographic locations

Infrastructure Engineer 1 - Network and security focus:

• Deeper expertise in network design, implementation, and security
• Experience with advanced networking features in GCP (VPC peering, hybrid connectivity, PrivateLink)
• Strong understanding of security best practices, compliance frameworks, and IAM
