The Assistant Vendor Manager utilizes a wide range of skills and work across major functional areas such as site merchandising, buying, pricing, inventory management, operations, online marketing, and finance to drive the performance of strategic vendor partners at Amazon.

This role is responsible for inventory management, forecast generation, new product launches, pricing, and conducting detailed analysis to identify opportunities to drive growth for the vendor.

The Assistant Vendor manager will autonomously negotiate promotional opportunities for vendors, create comprehensive marketing proposals and engage directly with multiple internal teams to optimize the product lines of key strategic brands

This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the most innovative online retailer and to develop and build strong functional skills across retail in online merchandising/marketing, buying, planning and forecasting, pricing, and business analysis.

Assistant Vendor Manager roles are in the General Management career path at Amazon and offer an opportunity for greater responsibility and advancement into a variety of roles including Merchandising, Vendor Management, and Instock Management.

Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Undergrad degree required.
- 3-5 years experience doing one of the several roles: quantitative/financial analysis, retail buying, inventory planning, retail planning & allocation, product/project management, pricing, marketing or e-commerce.
- Fluent in both English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The ability to quickly learn a varied set of software and editing tools (including HTML, Excel, and Access) is necessary, and prior experience is a plus.
- Prior experience with presentation, organization and account/vendor management is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, proven multi-tasking ability, and quantitative analysis.
- Our environment is fast-paced and requires someone who is flexible, detail-oriented, and analytical.
- SQL experience a bonus.
