Key Responsibilities

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done. Employees always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their colleagues. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:

• To oversee all gardening duties within the scope of the hotel, with care and concern for the environment of the property.
• To ensure work is conducted in a timely manner, and to set the gardening work schedule for the hotel.
• To oversee that the tools provided by the hotel are used in a safe and professional manner, and that they are maintained and looked after, and properly stored.
• To interact with all customers and colleagues professionally.
• To ensure that all gardening work areas are kept clean and tidy.
• To report potential dangers as soon as possible.
• To take a leading role in the energy and environmental programs of the hotel, and advocate the use of environmentally friendly products in the workplace.

Requirements

• Experience in permaculture, organic farming, landscaping design, orchid garden management, and composting.
• Five years experience in a similar role in a 5-star hotel.
• Comfortable with flexible working hours.
• Fluent in English both written and verbal.
