DESCRIPTION

This role will be responsible for the management of the day to day logistics operations with a special focus on First and Middle Mile operations as well as providing the necessary level of support in the Last mile Operations. Be responsible for leading, developing, and engaging a team of exceptional talent that makes innovation possible; main focus will be motivating, mentoring, and coaching the team to become the best leaders they can be. To achieve this, Operations Managers are creative problem solvers who are able to dream in immense scale, interpret big data, and deliver meaningful results that keenly drive productivity and efficiency.

Also, will be responsible for achieving KPI & SLA targets set forth by management while improving efficiencies and reducing costs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the Country Manager and the Regional Director in setting up the logistics operations (including and not limited to manpower hiring, process design, software system implementation).
• Hire, train, coach and lead logistics staff; this includes Managers and Supervisors.
• Assist in negotiating contracts with local suppliers/vendors for all logistics related matters; fleet leasing, branding.
• Manage all aspects of day-to-day activities and lead the local teams.
• Drive and own the KPI for successful and on-time delivery of orders.
• Work closely with Souq’s Fulfillment team, Country Manager, Souq CS team, to resolve any issues.

Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Candidate should ideally be fluent in Arabic and English,
• Candidate should have a degree; preferably in business management, operations/supply chain.
• Candidate must have at least 3-5 years of operations management experience, and have led large teams in the past.
• Candidate must be a problem solver and quick to adapt to change, as well as flexible to work longer hours as required to meet set targets.
• Candidate must lead by example and be involved in all aspects of the business to build the right teams and coach all new joiners.
