Egypt Education Platform is excited to announce an opening for a Math Head of Department (HOD) - French School at GEMS International School Cairo. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced educator to lead our mathematics department, foster an engaging learning environment, and ensure the highest standards of academic excellence in line with the French curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the math department, overseeing curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional strategies to deliver high-quality math education in French.
• Mentor and support math teachers, providing guidance on best practices and strategies for effective teaching and assessment.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing interventions as needed to promote student success and achievement.
• Facilitate departmental meetings, fostering collaboration, sharing of resources, and professional development opportunities among staff.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to promote a supportive learning environment.
• Stay current on trends in math education and incorporate innovative practices to enhance teaching and learning.
• Prepare reports on departmental performance and student achievement for school leadership.
• Participate in school leadership initiatives and contribute to the overall direction and success of the school.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a relevant field; a master’s degree is highly desirable.
• Fluency in French, with proven experience teaching math in a French-speaking environment.
• Very good command of English language.
• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in mathematics, with at least 2 years in a leadership role as a department head or coordinator.
• Strong understanding of the French curriculum and effective pedagogical approaches in mathematics.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven track record of improving student outcomes and fostering a collaborative and innovative teaching team.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of educational advancements.
