Microsoft Platform & SQL Specialist

Job description / Role

Job purpose

To support, manage, and enhance our Microsoft-based infrastructure and database systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across our environments.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot Microsoft SQL Server environments (installation, configuration, patching, backups, tuning).
• Manage and support Microsoft infrastructure products (Active Directory, Exchange, Windows Server, Azure AD, Office Solutions, etc.).
• Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions for SQL Server.
• Support migration and upgrade activities across Microsoft platforms.
• Ensure compliance with security and performance standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver reliable solutions.
• Prepare documentation and reports related to configurations, incidents, and performance metrics.

Technical skills

Qualifications and skills

• Proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016 or newer).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft products: Active Directory, Windows Server, and Office Solutions.
• Hands-on experience in PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Familiarity with SQL security, indexing, replication, and performance tuning.
• Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE) are a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience in both on-premises and hybrid cloud environments like OpenStack and VMware.
• Expertise in Linux products is a plus.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
