Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Multi-Vendor Support is looking for high-energy and passionate individuals to join our growing Open Source Software technical support teams. We provide 24x7 Remote Technical Support to IBM's Enterprise clients for Open Source Software projects (Community and Commercial).
IBM OSS support works with IBM's largest clients providing technical and project guidance, diagnosing defects, helping with configuration issues and advising on upgrades.

Responsibilities

- Drive problem resolution, which include: Questions around open source software usage and best practices
- Review of architecture and design where software is implemented
- Research, understand, and advocate open source software
- Interact with various open source communities
- Be a part of the on-call rotation
- Present knowledge via articles, blogs, and conference presentations

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in relevant subject
- Significant experience working in technical support or DevOps
- Fluency in English (Verbal and Written)
- Additional languages are desirable
- Customer-first mindset with high sense of ownership
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
- Eagerness to learn and expand technical competencies
- Experience within a Technical Support Center environment
- Able to research client problems on your own via documentation and lab reproduction
- Software development and design, systems administration or level 2-3 technical support experience
- Familiar with Linux environments
- Technical knowledge, skills and expertise in complex infrastructure, web-based software and enterprise software
- Proficiency in multiple OSS products and technologies (could include Java EE, ActiveMQ, Spring Framework, Apache HTTPD, Apache Tomcat, Redis, MongoDB, Ansible AWX or Jenkins)

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

- Participation in one or more Open Source Community Projects (support forums or git participation)
- Working knowledge of Linux-based web hosting and Linux environments
- Familiarity with one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, R, Node
- Database administration; cloud integration experience very desirable
- Expertise in Cassandra, Kafka, and/or cloud-native applications is a plus

This is shift work position. The resource may work in US Time zone shifts
