Description

An operations manager is a professional who ensures that everything runs smoothly from one day to another. They maximize process and procedure efficiency while meeting customer expectations in terms of cost-effectiveness.

General duties and responsibilities

  • Ensure all operations are carried out in an appropriate, efficient, and cost-effective way while solving immediate issues and operational challenges.
  • Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices.
  • Help the organization’s processes remain legally compliant.
  • Procure materials and resources while securing compliance with processes.
  • Find ways to increase quality of:
    • Customer service – oversee client satisfaction and guide teams to meet client expectations and standards.
    • Product development – perform quality controls and monitor production KPIs.
  • Plan inventory and oversee warehouse efficiency.
  • Formulate short-term strategy, operational objectives, and improve performance accordingly.
  • Lead and mentor team development to meet company and business objectives (short and long term).
  • Recruit, train, and supervise staff.
  • Work with cross-department teams ensuring a healthy flow of organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop plans to achieve top management strategies operationally in regard to financial responsibilities:
    • Examine financial data and use it to improve profitability.
    • Manage budgets and forecasts.
    • Provide accurate data and intelligence to allow senior management to develop strategies, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Respond to senior management business needs to meet company objectives.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and motivation skills to enhance business operations team performance with an excellent track record of managing teams.
  • Development, maintenance, and execution of standard operating procedures (SOPs) aligned with brand identity.
  • Management and continuous development of business operations risk assessments.
  • Continuous improvement and ongoing maintenance of production facilities and visual business operations processes.
  • Direct and manage business operations teams in a structured way to use resources effectively, ensuring all staff maintain minimum standards.
  • Comprehensive and current knowledge of company offerings and industry trends.
  • The drive and energy to manage multiple products while seeking new opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Computer skills, especially in MS Office.
